My first time having Northern Vietnamese pho & it didn't disappoint. The shop is tiny but has several seating options. Very clean. The flavors of the broth & the meat were great. I absolutely love the meat because it was thick yet soft and tender. The thick noodles were amazing as well! The service was fast-- my noodles came out so quick! I would definitely come back.

Got a flank beef and brisket pho from @tented_nyc that specializes in Northern Vietnamese pho. It was delicious! The place is pretty new so the space is clean and comfortable even though small. Would be back to try other pho options next time and perhaps a drink as well.

Heard about this place on social media that serves northern Vietnamese style pho so decided to try it out. It's a really small place where you order and pay at the counter and then they bring out your food at the table. The prices are a little pricier than the other pho places around but it's the only northern style pho in nyc for all I know. We got the number one and number two. The noodles were the standout. They were thick and chewy and absolutely amazing! The broth was salty and savory that was brightened up with some lime and the chili sauce that's provided on the tables. The meat was a little chewy and dry but still had good beefiness. Overall, a unique place to get pho if you love thick chewy noodles.

I finally tried northern-style pho and nonetheless in Chinatown. Starting off, they have an assortment of Vietnamese iced coffees and I opted in for The OG and a Salt-Mate which had a sweet and salty foam on top. We tried their main two noodle soups, Tái Gáu and Lõi Gáu and both had a warm broth with lots of hearty beef slices. The noodles are wider than your classic pho and there's condiments on the side like brined chilis and a vinegar-garlic mixture you can add in to enhance the broth. To accompany the pho, we also ordered the 4x Guáy and Trúng chán which are fried dough sticks you can dip into the broth and a poached egg. The inside is small but there still enough seating and they were starting to get packed. Shoutout to the great staff too!

The interior of this Northern Vietnamese restaurant is cozy and casual. You order at the counter here and they bring the food out to you after you're seated. Their menu is fairly simple, with four different noodle options and some drinks. Service here is very friendly, and I got to find out at this is (supposedly) the only fully Vietnamese-owned North Viet spot in New York! My friend and I got the Pho tai gau and Pho ap chao. Both bowls were delicious, with light broth and full of meat. Very comforting. They also have a poached egg or fried dough sticks that you can order to enjoy with your pho for a fully Northern pho experience. Otherwise, there's garlic and chili that you can enjoy with your pho! Would love to come back to try their other noodles.

We got the #1, the #4, the fried dough, and the poached egg. The #4 has a beefier broth that closer resembles bun bo hue, but it wasn't spicy. The #1 is lighter, but still flavorful. The noodles are more like fresh noodles than the packaged noodles that most pho shop serves. The portion is a bit on the small side and I wish it was served hotter. The fried dough was over fried and was not chewy. I wish they fried it a little less since it was overly crispy. The poached egg was expected and tasted like how you would expect. It's a poached egg in the same broth as #1. I rounded up since it's unique and I can't find alternatives to it in the city.

I noticed this new Vietnamese shop popped up on Baxter recently, so of course I had to try them out. They seem to specialize in Hanoi-style pho, which features a clearer and simpler broth that is heavy on the beef flavor and thicker, flat rice noodles that resemble linguine. There aren't a lot of places that offer Hanoi-style pho, other than Đi Ăn Đi in Greenpoint and Hà Nội House in East Village, so I would definitely recommend a visit to Tenten if you're curious. There was a bit of an English barrier, but luckily the menu is quite limited and if you have any other questions you can always use Google Translate. We ordered the most popular items, the #1: phở tái gầu and the #3: phở bò áp chảo ($17 each). I liked the phở tái gầu better as it came with flank steak and fatty brisket, the latter of which was so rich and delicious. The phở bò áp chảo was pretty similar but used beef shank instead. I didn't get much garlic flavor in the meat or the broth in the phở bò áp chảo either. Highly recommend some of their house chili garlic sauce-- it packs a punch. I also ordered the Salt Mate ($6.95), which was a Hue-style iced coffee with a sea salt crema. The coffee leans more milky than anything, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend it if you're looking for a caffeine fix.

Tènten is a vietnamese restaurant serving Northern style pho in Chinatown. Unlike Southern/Saigon style pho, Northern style one has a clearer broth and wider rice noodles. They have a $20 lunch combo on weekdays 12-4pm, which you can get any pho + specialty drink. You can hardly go wrong here as they have a small menu with only four items. It has limited seatings and gets packed fast, so come early!! *Tái Cầu #1 $17 *Áp Chảo #3 $17 We ordered the two most recommended pho from their menu. Tái Cầu was served with flank beef & brisket, while Áp Chảo came with sauteed beef and garlic. The beef bone broth was so aromatic on its own (no hoisin sauce needed‍). The rich broth was definitely something you can hardly remake at home. Squeeze some lime juice, add garlic vinegar and a little chilli sauce (very spicy) for more depth of flavors. I personally preferred Áp Chảo as the shredded marinated beef was more flavorful. My bf liked Tái Cầu more as the beef was more tender *Quay $3 We got some crispy fried dough on the side to dip into the broth. It looked and tasted like chinese fried dough stick (油炸鬼/油條). I would have liked it better if it was served warm. *Coco-Nuts For You $6.95 The iced coffee with condensed milk and coconut cream was very coconut-y and creamy. The texture was almost like slushie. The coffee flavor was on the milder side compared to regular viet coffee. *Daily Refresher $6.5 Daily refresher was perfect for non-coffee drinkers. It was a lemongrass peach tea with fresh peach and orange slices. Very refreshing.

Really great pho. First time having Northern Pho. Different type of noodle. Clean clean broth. I didn't feel greasy or overloaded with salt afterwards. Not sure if they use MSG, but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't use any. Limited tables - maybe 5-6? During dinner hours, it might be tough to get a table. We had to share a table with someone because it was so crammed. The pho takes awhile to come out - which might be a good sign that it is legit. Overall I really enjoy the soup and noodles. They have a vinegary pepper condiment on the side. There are no bean sprouts, basil, sriracha or hoisin sauce like traditional pho place. But that was what made this such a great experience too.
